TOURISM PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography, travel, and tourism are very closely linked. Consumers, especially millennials, are most likely to get their leisure travel inspiration via word of mouth. So to help those influencers take their next vacation to Minneapolis Northwest, inspirational photography is a must.
When I started at Minneapolis Northwest Tourism, my photography skills were minimal. Point-and-shoot was my method. As my desire to capture better images grew, my knowledge in photography began to flourish.
To help sell our area to new travelers, I had to learn how to capture all sorts of subjects. Food. Landscapes. Events. Children. Anything to help inspire people to come check out the slice of life Minneapolis Northwest has to offer.
Capturing these moments required prep work, including hiring talent, coordinating with destination owners on subject/s being shot, storyboarding, and creating shot lists, so no time is wasted on site and repeat visits are avoided.
